California Super Speedway January
2003
My second visit to California Speedway.
I actually got more than 3 hours of sleep this time which is a first for
me. This is a shot of my helmet after I added the AC Schnitzer stickers...kinda
makes me look like a ACS factory driver eh Manfred? ahhahaha in my dreams!
Thanks to Andy for this picture! A gentleman in a Porsche 911 gave us his garage space after he left home sick, thanx dude! It was a welcome change cuz the sun was killing us. I ran pretty good on this day, the weather was a cool 75F and my car had just been fully fixed with my new suspension, forged wheels and Kumho V700's. I turned in times in teh 1:31 and 1:32 range which is somewhat respectable. The car is still understeering a bit through the turns so I'm goin to play around with the alignment next. The V700's were phenomenal, although not as good as DOT R compounds...it had considerably more grip than my shitty ass 4 year-old Michelin Mxx3's. Going with the same tyre size all the way around also helped balance out the handling. Next goal is break into the 1:20's!
This is a beautiful shot of the California sunset. The cars from left to right belongs to Danny, Me and Daniel. Everyone had a long day and was ready to head home. Saw some interesting cars at this event including a kid in a Evo7 with a Ricer attitude (read: I am too kool for you so don't take pictures of my car) but otherwise a lot of nice ppl showed up. I was particularly impressed with this Caterham super 7. The driver is a total gentleman and gave me a load-down on his car. You can see more pics of this event at www.thefotoshop.com.
This is me and Dan in the garage
resting after a run. Boy this day had to be one of the best days cuz I
actually had sleep! I set some good times and the car was behaving much
better after all that $$$$ was thrown into it. Can't wait to come back
and use the Half oval~!
